Do I have to be Catholic to participate?

All students are welcome to participate.  You can be an Eastern Catholic (such as a Ukrianian Catholic), a Western Catholic (Roman Catholic) or even non-Catholic. …but, as stated in the rules and regulations: your submission has to “be in accordance to the teachings Catholic Church”.  In other words in order for us to accept your project and post it online, it can not say anything opposite to what the Catholic Church teaches.

Do I have to have my parent/guardian’s consent to submit and participate in the contest?

Yes, you must have parental consent, unless you are 18 years or older.

Can I do a group project?

Yes, you can submit your project with up to three people (total), but, each of you will need to fill out a submission (each with consent), checking off the box that says “I am working in a group” and indicate the names of the others in your group.

How much help can I get from my parents, friends, or others in making my project?

The point of the contest is that you do most of the work. If your friends are helping you substantially, then you should submit a group project. Parents/friends/family can help you with grammar, filming, etc., but the majority of the work done should be done by those listed as the submitters.

How do I submit my project?

Go to the home page and click on your grade link (i.e. K-2, 3-6, etc.). Go to the bottom of your grade page and click on the “submit” button; then follow the directions for written works, videos and picture files.

Do I have to submit my project online?

No, you can go to the “Resources” page, then scroll down under the first video and click on “Download a printable copy of the Parental Consent Form (PDF)”. Then fill in the form and mail in your project or bring it physically in to:

Your project must be sent enough in advance to make it to the office by the submission deadline.

What is the 25 Year Pastoral Plan?

It is a 25 year-long plan for the Eparchy of Edmonton which calls us to renew our faith, and to re-engage in the missionary spirit and zeal of the Christian Church. This includes helping us to renew our commitment to know, love and serve God. Youth are the often the best at sharing their faith with other youth. The 25 Year Pastoral Plan  affirms this in it section on Youth Evangelizing Youth (make this a link to the section in the 25 Year Plan where it talks about Youth Evangelizing Youth). iWitness is a program that helps youth share their faith with other youth by using their talents.
